5 Unique Philippine Foods!



Balot

Made from duck egg which inside that egg there is a duckling that almost hatch. Maybe, it’s a bit disgusting when you want to eat this food but, this food is not stench. Usually served with vinegar, salt, or chili. Balot can last for 3 days.





Kikiam


Its look like a dumpling, but the filling is pork and vegetables. Seasoned with five kinds of spice powder wrapped with bean curd before fried. Served with spicy vinegar and ketchup.

 Isaw



Grilled pork or chicken intestine that stabbed with wood. Before grilled, Philippine people usually boil it first. It will be more delicious if you eat it with chili sauce and vinegar.



Kamaro


Made from crickets. Before cooking, the Philippine people usually remove the legs and wings of the crickets. They boil the body with vinegar and garlic. Then sautéed and add some chopped tomatoes and red onion.

 Bibingka



Rice cakes that made by soaking rice overnight and then grinding it with stone and mix it into coconut milk and sugar. The batter is poured into a clay pot on a banana leaf, and then given coal on top and below. This dish decorated with salted eggs, white cheese, and smeared with butter, sugar, and grated coconut. This cake is usually served when welcoming Christmas.
